Required Level  : Beginner

Estimated Time : Between 30 minutes & 1 hour

Today I will explain, how to install your server metin2 under a dedicated server !

Do we need any software? sure!

We gonna need :

- Putty

Alright now we are ready to start !

Step 1 : Putty Explication

Open putty for the first time :

How does putty work?

- Host Name (or IP address) : In this case we need to add the ip address of our dedicated server.

- Connection type :  In this case, make sure you have taken the SSH function.

- Saved Sessions :  Here you can save your session to open it more quickly next time.

Now you only have to put the IP address of your server dedicated and press open !

Alright. As you can see, you are asked for a username : ''login as:''

- In any case your username will be: root

- After you need to enter your password : (The password is obtained when purchasing the dedicate by email confirmation)

When your password is set, you need just the press ENTER

Fantastic ! We are now connected to the dedicated server !

Step 2 : Component installations

First time you using your dedicate server, you gonna need to use some command

1 - Install Portsnap :

portsnap fetch extract

That will have the effect of extracting the library (fast enough action depending on the power of your dedicated).

2 - Update Portsnap :

portsnap fetch update

That will have the effect to update the library (fast enough action depending on the power of your dedicated).

3 - Install Mysql

Now its time to install Mysql-Server

I can see in your eye ! What is MySQL !?

MySQL is an Oracle-backed open source relational database management system (RDBMS) based on Structured Query Language (SQL)
MySQL runs on virtually all platforms, including Linux, UNIX and Windows. Although it can be used in a wide range of applications.

We have finish with history !

Now lets install Mysql55-Server

cd /usr/ports/databases/mysql55-server/

You press enter and after we write this command

make WITH_XCHARSET=all install clean

This installation can be quite long,

If you read this line its because your installations is finish Fantastic !

Step 3 : Mysql Configuration

Now we will make sure your mysql restarts automatically after each reboot of your dedicate server

In putty you gonna enter this command  : # ee /etc/rc.conf

After in the end of the files we gonna write this : mysql_enable="yes".

Like this :

Don't forget to save your new configuration!

Step 4 : User Configuration

Its time to config your database user

On putty you enter this command bellow :

# mysql -u root -p

You press enter and after we write this command

In : here_your_password : You need to choose your password assign to root.

This site can generate a lot of random password : https://www.motdepasse.xyz

Once done, type the following commands to create the user needed to run Metin2 files

# mysql> GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO 'mt2'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY '[email protected]#' WITH GRANT OPTION;

# mysql> flush privileges;

# mysql> quit
